This guide shows every location where you can pick up Dolls in each chapter, complete with images.
I also explain the benefits of collecting Dolls and what to do if you miss any along the way,
so please make use of it during your playthrough.
What Happens When You Collect Dolls?
You’ll unlock an achievement for collecting all the Dolls in each chapter.
Gathering every Doll across all chapters unlocks the achievement “Loose Threads.”
Collecting them doesn’t affect story progression, but if you’re aiming for 100% completion, there’s no avoiding it.
How Many Dolls Are in Each Chapter?
You can check the number of Dolls from the Chapter Select screen in the main menu.
How to Make Dolls Easier to Spot
They can be surprisingly easy to overlook when placed plainly in the environment, so if that’s the case,
Settings → Accessibility → Highlight Items
will make collectibles stand out more clearly.
However, keep in mind that enabling Highlight Actionable Objects in the same Accessibility menu will also highlight gimmicks, which may make the game feel easier than intended. If you want a pure, self-driven playthrough, consider leaving it off.
Efficient Ways to Collect Missed Dolls
The smoothest method is to collect everything in a single run—but if that were easy, you wouldn’t be here…
The real concern is whether missing a few Dolls at the end of a chapter forces you to start from scratch, right?
No worries! Achievement progress seems to be tied to the game client rather than your save file.
So if you missed a Doll in Necropolis, you can create a new file and pick it up. You’ll need to replay the chapter from the beginning, but the moment you grab the missing Doll, the achievement unlocks. (This applies to the Steam version; I’m unsure about consoles.)
If you missed one in a later chapter, simply overwrite your existing save and retry from there.
Once you’ve collected the missing Doll, progress a bit until the autosave icon appears in the bottom right, then return to the main menu.
If the chapter shows the maximum number of Dolls collected, you’re all set.
Dolls in the Necropolis (5 Total)
Collecting all 5 dolls in Necropolis unlocks the Achievement “Toy Box”.
First Half (3 Dolls)

After climbing the long staircase on the right side of the desert, you'll find it in the center of the room.

While avoiding the Monster Baby, activate the elevator using the pressure switch. Once it descends, break the wall on the left and pick up the doll inside.

After obtaining the umbrella, you'll find it on the collapsed spiral staircase floor.

Right after the event cutscene, head to the room on the left to find it.

You'll find it at the end of the corridor.
Dolls in the Candy Factory (5 Total)
Collecting all 5 dolls unlocks the Achievement “Candy Shop”.
First Half (2 Dolls)

After clearing the second stealth section with the Factory Manager, you'll find it on the left end of the beam.

It’s located on the left floor of the room where you collect two fuses.

After exiting the elevator and heading left to the outdoors, follow the pipes to reach a room containing the doll.

Drop down from the ceiling beams in the monitor room and pick it up in the room to the left.

After completely escaping from the Factory Manager, you'll find it at the end of the corridor in the room on the left.

Dolls in the Carnevale (10 Total)
You can unlock the “Token Gestures” achievement by collecting all 10 dolls.
First Half (7 Dolls)

After dropping down from the attic into the corridor, the doll is in the room on the near right.

Right after climbing the device that looks like an orrery, you can pick up the doll in the small upper room beyond the window.

After climbing the chain, go through the gap on the far right into the room where the doll is lying on the floor.

When you reach the very dark hallway, go down the stairs on the left right away. The doll is at the back of the room below.

In the piano room, ① walk across the keys and ② a hidden door will open as a ③ Nome jumps out. You can pick up the doll inside the opened ④ hidden room.

Once you reach the rooftop, before heading along the main route, move from the foreground toward the background to find a room where the doll is placed.

After fighting multiple dolls, crawl through the space under the floor and emerge outside, then head back in the opposite direction.
Climb the wooden boards that act as a ladder to reach the doll. Dropping straight down to return is dangerous, so climb back down the boards instead.

Right after the shooting gallery, have both characters grab the well lever to descend underground.
You’ll find the doll beyond the area filled with dentures.

In the room where you cross the planks, you can actually drop down to the lower level. Go through the duct ahead to reach the room with the doll.

On the far right, look for the room with candlelight leaking through the doorway—that’s your landmark. Go inside to pick up the doll.
If you haven’t missed any, the achievement should unlock here.
Dolls in the Institute (5 Total)
Collecting all 5 Dolls will unlock Achievement “Filed Away.”
First Half (3 Dolls)

Instead of heading through the path where you remove the wooden boards, go the opposite way to find this Doll in the room ahead.

Pick up the very familiar Doll from the trash can in the solitary cell. Carry it with you into the room with the bicycle, and another Doll will appear.

After inserting the Fuse and advancing, look up in the room ahead to spot this Doll on a high ledge.
Move the cart underneath to climb up and reach it.
Second Half (2 Dolls)

After defeating the Hypnotist with the Bow, continue down the hallway to find this Doll at the far end.

Follow the hole in the wall to reach a back room where this Doll sits. It’s located even farther right than the locked door.
