This page summarizes all Ending branch requirements available from your second playthrough onward.
Each Ending has its own dedicated article that explains additional conditions, altered puzzles, and route-specific changes in detail. We also cover efficient methods for collecting every Ending, so use this guide to assist you throughout your playthrough.
Ending Types and Branch Requirements
| ED Name | Branch Requirements |
| Fox’s Wedding | ① Do not use the Red Capsule ② Purify the Sacred Sword of its grudge, or never obtain it ③ Obtain Agura no Hotei-sama |
| The Fox Wets Its Tail | ① Do not use the Red Capsule ② Obtain the Sacred Sword and do not purify it |
| Ebisugaoka in Silence | ① View two or more different Endings※1 ② Do not use the Red Capsule ③ Obtain the Sacred Sword and purify its grudge ④ Offer the Brooch at the Jizo Statue |
| The Great Space Invasion! (UFO Ending) | ① Listen to the UFO-related radio broadcast ② Examine the three movie posters for “The Great Space Invasion!” in the correct order ③ Examine the movie review for “The Great Space Invasion!” |
| Coming Home to Roost | This is always the Ending of your first playthrough Triggered if none of the other branch requirements are met |
※1 Since certain Endings are excluded from this count, it is highly likely that the UFO Ending does not qualify.
The requirement is heavily influenced by how you handle the Sacred Sword and the choices you make at Hermitage of Crimson Water.
Efficient Ending Collection
“There are five Endings, so shouldn’t I just play through the game five times?”
You might think so, but there is actually a way to collect all Endings with fewer than five playthroughs.
Collecting All Endings Is Easier When You Split Your Save Data
Take a look at this.

The image above shows how I collected all Endings by splitting my save files. The Ending icons are spread across two separate save slots.
Even so, the game recognizes that I have seen every Ending. You can confirm this from the Ending List on the title screen, and your Achievements should be unlocked as well.
In short, if you create separate saves right before each branching point during your second playthrough, you can collect multiple Endings from a single save file.
You do not need to complete five full playthroughs.
Situations Where Completing All Five Playthroughs Is Worth It
Because the Hidden Weapon Can Be Upgraded
For example, the hidden weapon 【PP-8001】 becomes stronger the more Endings you have collected within the same save file.
Put simply, the more Ending icons you have on that data, the stronger it becomes.

That said, even if you gather all Endings on one save file, PP-8001 will never surpass the Sacred Sword. It’s ultimately more of a novelty weapon than a serious one.
Because You Can Clear Lost in the Fog Against Easier Bosses
Clearing the game on the Lost in the Fog Action Difficulty will unlock the Achievement 【Clear Skies】.
However, if the Lost in the Fog Action Difficulty feels overwhelmingly stressful and turns what should be an enjoyable game into something painful,
【Normal Ending】
【The Fox Wets Its Tail】
consider replaying these Endings instead.
On the Normal Ending route, you are free to take the Red Capsule, and there is no need to purify the Sacred Sword’s grudge—meaning you can maintain full power and fight at maximum strength. (The Shiromuku battle does not allow revival on Lost in the Fog.)
The Fox Wets Its Tail route also allows you to skip purifying the Sacred Sword, letting you push through with its raw potential.
With these two options, your chances of clearing Lost in the Fog should increase significantly.
If you're not confident in action gameplay but still want to unlock all Achievements, definitely give these routes a try.
How to Collect All Endings in Three Playthroughs
I said “three playthroughs,” but to be honest, it will feel closer to four in terms of time and effort. Please keep that in mind.
Quick Route for Collecting All Endings
[Second Playthrough]
Progress while solving the Sacred Sword puzzles
Never use the Red Capsule
Watch the The Great Space Invasion! Ending, then reload from a save just before the final area
Make sure to save in a separate slot so you don’t overwrite your main progress.
After obtaining the Sacred Sword, split your save into two files
Technically, splitting your save before entering the Hermitage of Crimson Water in the Main Hall makes everything smoother later.
View the Fox’s Wedding Ending, save, and then resume from the separate file created in STEP 4
View the The Fox Wets Its Tail Ending (you may overwrite the same save)
[Third Playthrough]
Start NG+ from the save where you already viewed Fox’s Wedding
Select the Lost in the Fog Action difficulty to qualify for all Achievements.
View the Ebisugaoka in Silence Ending
That’s it. By splitting your saves, you can restart conveniently from the Iwashimizu chapter whenever needed.
Of course, while collecting these Endings across your three playthroughs, you can also unlock every NG+-exclusive Achievement along the way.
