Puzzle【Altar】
After the battle in Ebisugaoka, the puzzle "Altar" will begin.
If you carefully examine the five offerings, you should notice that the patterns on their decorative cords match the shapes on the figurines.
Arrange the offerings so that the design on each one lines up with the matching figurine.
If you rotate and examine the five offerings from different angles, you’ll notice that each one features a pattern matching one of the pedestals.
Arrange the offerings so their designs align with the correct pedestals.
As for the mouse… I have no idea what’s going on there. (Don’t ask.)
Don’t think too hard about it. Your brain deserves a snack break.
Shrine Path Walkthrough
 ┗Once you progress a bit, Puzzle #2 begins from ①. Since a Hokora and Yokan are nearby, save your game and offer any unneeded items. You can't carry many Offering Items, so it's best to free up space for the ones you'll pick up later. ┗At ②, you'll find Divine Water. Open the door and proceed. At ③, examine the doll to receive a hint for Puzzle [Shrine Vault] and trigger a battle. The enemy will respawn regularly and keep chasing you, so stay alert. ┗At ④, you'll find Higashi. At ⑤, Inari Sushi. At ⑥, Kudzu Tea. At ⑦, Yokan. At ⑧, Bandage. ┗Blue Frame A contains Ema that match each difficulty's theme. Examine the conspicuous cat Ema in Blue Frame A to obtain Omamori【Cat】. ┗At ⑨, you'll find Kudzu Tea. A Hokora is nearby. At ⑩, you'll find a Dried Carcass. ┗Blue Frame B also contains Ema that match each difficulty's theme. ┗Blue Frame C contains the last set of Ema. Investigate all of them to obtain the Combination Lock Dial and unlock the gate at ①. By this point, figuring out the code should be easy, but I've explained it below just in case. ┗Blue Frames A, B, and C represent the route I chose. You can explore them in any order you like. ┗Once you obtain the Stone Key, run straight from ⑪ to ⑫. | |

| [Achievement Tips] You can unlock an achievement by opening Shrine Vault without taking a single hit from the enemy that pursues you in this area. It’s pretty tough. During the first encounter, you won’t be able to outrun it, so you'll have to fight. If you obtain Omamori【Clam】 from Draw Omamori and equip stealth-oriented gear, it'll help you avoid fights after the first one. |
Puzzle【Shrine Vault】
From the blue-framed spots A, B, and C on the Shrine Path map, locate and inspect the Crane, Snake, or Turtle Ema plaques. You can check them in any order you like.
Once you examine the correct ema, the corresponding symbol will be automatically recorded in your notebook, so there’s no need to memorize it yourself.
Return to the Shrine Vault and unlock the door using the symbol combination you’ve discovered.
By the way, if you already know the correct code, you can skip searching for the Ema entirely and unlock it immediately. However, be aware that doing so prevents you from collecting the items along the Shrine Path, so keep that in mind.
From the Blue Frames A, B, and C on the Shrine Path map, locate and inspect the Ema featuring the Lightning, Withered Wood, or Kudzu Leaf designs. You can check them in any order.
Once you examine the correct Ema, its symbol will be recorded in your notebook, so you don’t need to memorize it yourself.
The final Ema you inspect will always grant you Combination Lock Dial, which you can then use to unlock the door at Shrine Vault.
From the Blue Frames A, B, and C on the Shrine Path map, locate and inspect the Ema depicting Yokai of the Carriage, Yokai of the Umbrella, or Yokai of the Kettle — all classic yokai motifs.
There are no Code Lock Parts this time, so once you identify the correct Ema, head straight to Shrine Vault and unlock it.
Note that if you already know the answer, you can unlock the door without examining the Ema — but doing so will prevent you from collecting items along the Shrine Path, so consider that before skipping them.
